SATURDAY, APRIL 28 – Mayor Mitchell’s Classic Movie Series brings the legendary CASABLANCA to the Zeiterion Theatre screen today at 2:00 p.m. This writer’s favorite movie – with Citizen Kane coming in a close second – CASABLANCA on the big screen is like letters of transit out of everyday life and into immortality. Come see it; it’s free, too!

LGBTQ Film Series wraps it up

SUNDAY, APRIL 29 – The LGBTQ Winter Film Series ends it runs at the Whaling National Historic Park today at 2:00 p.m. with a free screening of the documentary, “How to Survive a Plague.” It looks at the work of Act Up and their activism in bringing HIV and AIDS awareness into the mainstream during the early years of the health crisis. During the event, there will be a a Testing Van parked in Carter’s parking lot that will provide free on site HIV testing. The theater is located at 33 William Street, NB.

Ezekiel’s Wheels in concert

SUNDAY, APRIL 29 – The Tifereth Israel Congregation (139 Brownell Avenue, NB) hosts the internationally-acclaimed Ezekiel’s Wheels in concert this evening at 7:00 p.m. Ezekiel’s Wheels “improvise with the intimacy of chamber music and the intensity of a rowdy dance band.
