Mindfulness Meditation for Turbulent Times

There’s a saying often mentioned to those taking up meditation for the first time: “If you’re breathing, there’s more right with you than wrong with you,” which does make great sense. But what if the mere thought of slowing down, pausing, and focusing on the breath feels counter-intuitive or downright scary?
It’s true that right now the pandemic, social upheaval, and political drama is likely wreaking havoc on all our nervous systems. Perhaps you’re wondering if there are other methods of mindfulness that can be helpful for balancing the highs and lows of today’s environment besides the standard breathing meditation.
Join Jessica Webb, certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction facilitator, meditation teacher, and yoga instructor for a lighthearted look at how mindfulness can help us every day. This will be a participatory workshop on alternative techniques of mindfulness for turbulent times. We will engage with embodied practices like gentle movement, walking meditation, and other techniques you can do to support your own body, mind and emotions during this extraordinary time.
